We’ve been speaking with a number of clients over the last few weeks who are asking a similar question, “What am I supposed to do about physical placement exchanges under the “Safer at Home” order?”
Although the Court system has been mostly shuttered due to COVID-19, existing orders are still in full force and effect and should be followed. So does this mean that placement exchanges should continue unchanged? As with most legal issues, the answer unfortunately is “it depends on your situation”. Our family law attorneys have come to the consensus that absent some sort of emergency situation, medical order, or agreement between parents, physical placement orders should still be followed. There are a number of alternate arrangements and remedies that can be made during this time. While each situation is unique, the family law attorneys at One Law Group SC
are in a position to provide tailored advice for your specific situation.
These are chaotic and confusing times for all. Do you have questions? Our attorneys are here to help and ready to speak with you. Give us a call and we will get through this together. Stay healthy and stay safe.
