Beware of Email Scams

To All Trademark Clients—Beware of Email Scams

The USPTO has issued a Trademark Alert directed toward trademark owners and applicants, who are receiving fraudulent emails that appear to originate from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), whose domain name is @uspto.gov.

Beware of the follow email messages:

1. Spoof of USPTO email address (e. g., n oreply@uspto.gov

2. Falsely claim that the USPTO has a new policy requiring separate registration of “clients” and that there is a “penalty” for not complying.

3. Provide incorrect USPTO trademark filing information (e.g., incorrect fee information).

What You Should Do: Contact Sarah@onelawgroupsc.com or 920-330-9206 for any questions about suspicious emails.
